Vedic Career Astrology: Reading the 10th House, Karakamsa & D10
For career analysis, Parashari Jyotish uses a 3-method confirmation system — any single method can mislead, but when all three agree the verdict is reliable.
Method 1 — The 10th house (Karma Bhava)
The 10th house from your Lagna shows the field of action. The lord of the 10th, the planets sitting in the 10th, and the planets aspecting the 10th together describe your career nature. Sun in 10th = government/leadership, Saturn = service/labour/judiciary, Mercury = communication/IT, Mars = engineering/military, Venus = arts/luxury.
Method 2 — Atmakaraka in Karakamsa (Jaimini)
Find your Atmakaraka, locate it in D9, and the 10th house from Karakamsa reveals soul-aligned career. This is the why behind the what.
Method 3 — Dasamsa (D10) chart
The D10 divides each rashi into 10 parts and zooms specifically into career karma. The D10 Lagna and its lord, plus 10th house of D10, are read with the same logic as D1 but for professional life only. A weak 10th in D1 but strong in D10 means slow start, brilliant career nonetheless.
Job vs Business
- Strong 6th house → service/job inclination
- Strong 7th house → business/partnerships
- Strong 11th + Jupiter-Mercury combo → entrepreneurial gain
- Sun-Saturn combination in career houses → administration, government service
